Arrived in Korea: September 10, 2005

While I was still in New Zealand my recruiter rang me several times to check everything was OK and ask if I had concerns about anything. I found this reassuring and was impressed they made the effort to call me. They were prompt in answering all my queries by email / phone, and gave clear instructions on how to get my visa etc sorted, and how to get to my city once I arrived at Seoul airport. Since I had never been overseas before this gave me a lot of confidence.
Once in Korea I was met by my recruiter and the school director. My recruiter gave me a map of the city and checked everything was alright. I was told to call them if I had any concerns, or just to talk. They called me a few times to check how I was going. As the first weekend I arrived in Korea was a holiday (long weekend), they arranged for me to meet some other English speaking people so I wouldn’t be too lonely. They were very friendly and approachable, and concerned with helping me fit in to life in Korea. I expressed an interest in trying a martial art out, so they arranged for me to go to some Hapkido classes (which I’m really enjoying). Anything I wanted to do they were willing to help me out with it. I find them to be very caring and concerned with my welfare ?which is more than I had expected from my recruiter.
